Stuart MacLeod, MD, PhD, FRCPC, is the Executive Director of the Child & Family Research Institute in Vancouver, the Vice President for Research Coordination and Academic Liaison of the Provincial Health Services Authority of British Columbia, Canada, and an Assistant Dean (Research) and Professor of Pediatrics of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
He spent 14 years at the University of Toronto (pharmacology, clinical biochemistry, pharmacy, medicine and pediatrics), and held hospital appointments at the Toronto Hospital, the Hospital for Sick Children, and the Addiction Research Foundation. In 1987, he became Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University and in 1992, the founding director of the Father Sean O’Sullivan Research Centre at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton, Canada..
His main research interests are in clinical pharmacology, adverse drug reactions, drug policy, and optimal drug use for children, as well as in international health and medical education.
