A serving of lemon balm?

Two studies reported that lemon balm extracts reduced the effects of Alzheimer’s disease. Results of preliminary trials showed that lemon balm extracts improved memory test performance in younger adults and in patients with Alzheimer’s disease. Sage was also found to be beneficial, but less effective.

These studies were conducted at the Medical Plant Research Center at the University of Newcastle in the UK and at the Tehran University of Medical Science in Iran, and results were published in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry. Larger trials are being conducted.
